My Paradise, here on earth...

Our place, a paradise, a little bit of
heaven on earth. Most of the time, I was alone there for the other residents worked and were only there on weekends.
My first night, it was so dark, then I discovered that your eyes adjusted to the darkness, and if the moon was shining, you
could see just about everything. I just let myself blend in with nature and work with it, rather than fear it.
Seeing the beauty and awe of it. I consider this time I spent at the lake a priviledge with 8 years of memories which
I will never forget.

A fall photograph.
We are located in that clump of trees on the left side of the picture. You can't even tell that anyone is there, the
trees were so thick it even fooled nature. We were a curiosity to the wild animals, we lived among them. Jac,
a wild goose made the lake his home and bought his family to select homes to feed. I would watch the deer feed and drink
from the lake in the morning and evening. A bald eagle fed fish from our lake, then rested on a bare tree. The
lake was filled with pike. We canoed and swam in our lake, the water was tested twice a week for purity.

Our home made fire place,
my youngest son build it. It was large. Our log pile was pretty high to filfull our needs. I never had very
much trash for I burned it all. Every Thursday night Dolly, Irv and Patti would come over, and we would sit around the
fire and chat. So warm and cozy. That fire would get so hot, metal would melt. The stars at night
were just sparkling, gleaming down on the lake, what a beautiful sight. I stayed there for weeks at a time, would go home to wash clothes and clean our home
then came right back again.
Hope is the fuel of life, hope gives us life, hope is the substance of our spirit, and hope is the power of our heart.

From this photo, you get a glimpse
of the main house. This is an historic home which was a stage stop for travelers going down to the Sea Shore. Lol,
that's when the road was dirt and the bridge was wood. They just changed the bridge about 5 years ago to concrete. There
is a fireplace in every room. You can see my fireplace a little over to the right past the white sand beach. These
pictures were taken several weeks before it was closed down. Belleplain State Forest bought it. I imagine the
land will have to sit for 10 years or so before they can develop it. They are suppose to put cabins on it. Looking
at the far end of the lake on the photo, it raps around and goes straight into the woods for a 1/4 mile.
